It was originally an 8' x 12' barn with the lawn mower on what is now the right side. We doubled it with an 8' x 12' extension that is entirely rabbits.
Left side of barn is rabbits, right side is lawn mower, full divider wall between.
Over 30 holes inside. Each side has 15 cages; 6 - 30"x30" and 9 - 24"x24". Under the left side there are four smaller cages for young juniors.
The ends are entirely screened in.
Awning or Hurricane doors/windows that are propped open or latched shut. Heavy winds will drop these doors. Almost no rain gets in.
In the winter screens can be covered with clear acrylic or foam insulation board and heated inside.
Foam insulation board floor to ceiling inside west wall and as a drop ceiling.
A box fan acts as a ceiling vent to draw heat up and into the attic for it to escape out louver vents.
Center aisle is 1' square paving stones. Dirt/stone under cages for drainage.
Grooming table/storage at far end.
There are new style 'hanging' nestboxes on four of the left cages.
These nestboxes we built on the pattern from the Extrona nestbox you see in the center photo.
If you are interested in purchasing any of these new concept nestboxes, please contact us and we would be happy to build some for your does.
These are detailed photos of the new nestboxes. They open from the top, the basket slides out like a drawer, 6" x 6" hole for pass through from cage to nest, removable and washable.

Here is my grand champion chocolate doe "Madison" the day before she kindled a litter of six in the first nestbox we built. She had lost three litters that spring with regular wooden nestboxes. This litter however was fine. I credit the hanging nestbox for this.
